Culinary Arts Academy at Newport Harbor High School Wins California Golden Bell Award.

On Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, ROP teacher Ms. Janet Dukes, as the Program Director of the Newport Harbor High School Culinary Academy, will be honored in the 30th Annual Golden Bell Awards program at the California School Board Association (CSBA) State Conference. This highly respected award will be presented at a special ceremony during CSBA's Awards luncheon.

The Culinary Academy is an incredible program, as the students winning four of the last seven California ProStart Culinary competitions would indicate. Each victory advanced the teams to the national finals. While not winning this past year's competition in San Diego, the experience provided the students an amazing opportunity to meet and network with leaders in the food industry from across the country.
